September 18, 2024 – PEMBERVILLE – Eastwood High School students recently participated in a Rachel’s Challenge program focused on fostering kindness and compassion. After experiencing Rachel’s Challenge, several students reflected on how deeply they were touched by the message of kindness and the importance of empathy. One student mentioned that the program reinforced how small, compassionate acts can have a significant impact, while another reflected on the importance of community connection. These insights have spurred the students to commit to creating a more inclusive and supportive school environment. Principal Dwight Fertig had this to say, “This is about getting kids to understand how important they are to the school, to each other, to our community, and just to continue to involve positivity and understanding … through receiving and extending compassion and kindness.”
