October 16, 2024 – WAUKESHA, WI – Catholic Memorial High School partnered with Rachel’s Challenge to inspire students to foster kindness and compassion. Through a presentation, students learned about the life and message of Rachel Joy Scott, the first victim of the 1999 Columbine High School shooting. Rachel’s Challenge encourages students to start a “chain reaction of kindness” and promotes five key actions: looking for the best in others, dreaming big, choosing positive influences, speaking kindly, and starting their own chain reaction.
The school aligned Rachel’s Challenge with their theme of professionalism, emphasizing politeness and kindness. The event focused on encouraging students to put their beliefs into action by following Rachel’s message of compassion and connection.
