March 25, 2025 – MASSAPEQUA, NY – On March 24, Berner Middle School welcomed Rachel’s Challenge to promote kindness, compassion, and inclusion. Led by Veda Tucker, the day included grade-level assemblies and a leadership workshop, all centered around the legacy of Rachel Scott, whose life continues to inspire students across the country.
Students were challenged to start a “chain reaction” of kindness through small, meaningful actions, while 38 student leaders met with Tucker to explore ways to promote a positive school climate through service, mental health awareness, and social media. The school community also received an “I Accept Rachel’s Challenge” banner as a symbol of their commitment to making a lasting difference.
