Injecting some fun ways for educators to spoil themselves that can be fantastic ways to relieve stress as we move forward into a new year. Here are some creative ideas for educators to boost morale in 2024:
Treat Cart: Roll a cart to each classroom or office to deliver fun snacks and drinks like Sonic drinks, cookies, popcorn, donuts, etc.
Staff Yoga: Spice up your faculty meetings with a surprise yoga session.
DIY Stress Balls Workshop: Organize a stress ball-making workshop during a professional development day. Teachers can create personalized stress-relief tools. This can also be used with students!
Gratitude Graffiti Wall: Create a gratitude wall where teachers can write positive notes to each other. It’s a simple way to spread kindness and appreciation.
Creative Classroom Competitions: Introduce friendly competitions among classrooms, such as the “Best Classroom Door Decoration” or “Most Creative Whiteboard Art.”
Intentional Acts of Kindness Day: Declare an “Intentional Acts of Kindness Day” where everyone surprises colleagues with small, thoughtful gestures.
Coffee Bar, the Elixir of Educators: Treat coffee breaks as sacred rituals. Bow down to the mighty coffee bean and thank it for fueling your lessons.
Lesson Plan Bingo: Turn lesson planning into a game. Create bingo cards with common phrases like “differentiated instruction” or “21st-century skills.” Celebrate with a victory dance when you get a bingo.
