Saving Lives
One heart at a time
Rachel’s Challenge has delivered life-changing programs to over 30 million students, educators and parents since 2001. With the support of the whole community – educators, parents, students, businesses, volunteers, and donors – we’re making schools safer, kinder, and more connected.
Lives are changed, many even saved. Students report feeling safer, having a deeper awareness of themselves and others, and being more emotionally resilient as a result of our programs.
Schools that have had Rachel’s Challenge attest that it is one of the simplest, most powerful things you can do to bring students and staff together.

In numbers
160,000 students skip school every day for fear of being bullied.

Better Outcomes
It doesn’t have to be this way. Creating a safe and nurturing school climate is possible. Rachel’s Challenge exists to inspire and equip every person to create a permanent positive change not only in themselves, but in their schools, their businesses and communities. We see it happening in culturally diverse environments every day.
Rachel’s Challenge programs provide a sustainable, evidence-based framework for positive climate and culture in our schools. Disciplinary referrals go down by as much as 65%. Climate satisfaction – and test scores – go up. Fully implemented, partner schools achieve statistically significant gains in community engagement, faculty/student relationships, leadership potential, and school climate; along with reductions in bullying, alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.
We have a comprehensive set of age-appropriate programs for K-12, college and business, providing culturally relevant social/emotional training.
