April 1st, 2025 – GENESEO, IL – Inspired by Rachel’s Challenge, 8th graders Leila and Reese at Geneseo Middle School took kindness into their own hands—covering every student’s locker with uplifting Post-it notes. Motivated by Rachel Scott’s legacy of compassion, the students wrote 800 handwritten messages to remind their peers they are seen, valued, and loved.
With support from their teachers and friends, the girls quietly brightened their school, not for recognition, but simply to make others smile. Their thoughtful act reflects the powerful ripple effect of kindness and shows how even small gestures can leave a lasting impact.
