April 8, 2025 – WESTON, W.Va – Freshmen at Lewis County High School were visited by a Rachel’s Challenge presenter this week, hearing the powerful story of Rachel Scott and how her legacy is sparking a nationwide movement of compassion and connection.
Presenter Matt Kendziera emphasized that Rachel’s dream lives on through every student who chooses compassion over cruelty. The program has a proven impact: schools report up to an 84% drop in disciplinary referrals, 150+ suicides averted annually, and nine school shootings prevented.
Now, Lewis County High School joins the mission—bringing Rachel’s message to life in their own halls and community.
